Millions Pledged to Provide Free Mental Health Care to Veterans

Currently the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at NYU Langone is open to veterans to seek treatment regardless of what their discharge status may be.

The clinic is backed by billionaire fund manager Steven Cohen, who has pledged a whopping $275 million in order to expand their project.

In the next four years alone the organization plans to grow to over 25 clinics across the U.S.

What makes this clinic unique is that the caretakers don’t even ask about the patient’s discharge. This is huge as countless are constantly being turned away by the VA in connection with their less than honorable discharges.

The clinic also allows family member’s of service members to visit even if their loved one refuses treatment.

The need for accessible mental health facilities is only growing.
