Malone saw Staff Sergeant Doug Sevier and 4 members of his team while at Wok-On’s Bistreaux in Baton Rouge. He thanked them for the service and offered to pay their tab. He even went to get a couple of cigars from his car to share with the guys.
As a native of Lousiana, Malone wanted to show these guys how grateful he felt. He used to play for the Louisiana Tech. He is actually one of the esteemed alums of the school. In fact, the school’s court was named after him – Karl Malone Court.
20 inches of rain hit Louisiana in the middle of August. It left 20,000 people in need of rescuing.
The US Coast Guard responded first but then help started coming in from all over the country.
It’s great to see how everyone is trying to help out during these devastating acts of nature.
